Chris and Megan
We’re Getting Married!
We’re eloping!
(Sort of)
Instead of a traditional wedding ceremony and reception, we are getting married with just our parents and siblings alongside us in Rocky Mountain National Park in February.
Good news for us- we get to celebrate our love in the place where Megan grew up, in the heights of the gorgeous Rocky Mountains.
Good news for you- no need to climb a mountain in February unless your last name is Mitchell or Human.
But don’t worry- we still want to (dinner) party.
With family and friends scattered around the world, we have decided to come to you. Instead of a single traditional reception, we are hosting what we affectionately call “The Dinner Party Tour.”
When we pictured celebrating our marriage, we couldn’t imagine spending just five minutes with each guest, especially when so many of you would have to travel so far to celebrate with us. When we described the day we wanted to have to each other, words like intentional, intimate, and meaningful kept coming up in conversation. So we’ve decided to toss out the bouquet and instead opt for cozy dinner parties in some of the places that mean the most to us, so we can truly be present with the people we love- you!
We hope you’ll join us whenever and wherever is most convenient for you. Details for each gathering are included below, and you can RSVP for what makes sense for you.
Here’s the vibe: don your favorite cocktail attire, settle in at the table, and pop a bottle with us- dinner is served.
“Our bond is no little economy based on the exchange
of my love and work for yours, so much for so much
of an expendable fund. We don’t know what its limits are-
that puts us in the dark. We are more together
than we know, how else could we keep on discovering
we are more together than we thought?
You are the known way leading always to the unknown,
and you are the known place to which the unknown is always
leading me back.”

Our Love Story
It’s a tale as old as time: Boy swipes right, girl swipes right, girl moves 1,431.8 miles away three weeks later.
Late one Tuesday night, Chris swiped right on Megan’s Hinge profile. Megan matched immediately. New to online dating, she wasn’t aware of the unspoken convention of playing it cool and enthusiastically initiated a conversation, interrupting Chris’s video game. A few days later, they had their first date at E.R. Bradleys, a lively beach bar in downtown West Palm Beach. Drinks turned into dinner turned into a walk down the intercoastal waterway. Chris had recently moved to town and Megan enjoyed pointing out all the local hotspots as they walked, hoping he’d ask for a second date. He did- and Megan waited one more date before dropping the bomb: she was moving to New Hampshire three weeks later. Just a week after she’d left town, Chris bought a flight to come visit her. Four months later, Megan was the one making a trek: she drove the twenty hours back to West Palm with her two cats in the back seat, ending their long distance chapter.
Since then, Chris and Megan have been around the world and back again, making it all the way to Cape Town, South Africa, where Chris met Megan’s grandma before he’d even met her parents. Nervous he didn’t match Megan’s sense of adventure, Chris bought tickets for them to jump 18,000 feet out of a plane. Megan is terrified of heights but even more scared of being called a wimp, and appreciated the challenge. The two have ridden horses at a dude ranch, hiked in the Rocky Mountains, gone on countless road trips, and binge watched a lot of 90 day fiance.
On August 24, Chris asked Megan to go watch the sunrise on the beach where he’d first said “I love you” the year before. Then the pair drove across the state where Chris popped the question at sunset on a private balcony overlooking the ocean.

The Registry
The only gift we request is your presence in celebration with us. When you’re combining two households in your thirties, you don’t need much! But just in case you can’t be stopped, we’ve put together a small registry.
